Joining as a family: If you are participating with family, it is up to you to decide how you wish to join. Our website is designed to enable you to have a fundraising page for each family member to fundraise from their own networks and then join them together as a ‘Team.’ However, some families opt to fundraise together and promote one family page. For support on making the best choice for your family, contact us at laceup@diabetes.ca.
Start a team at work: If you are participating with colleagues, we recommend choosing the ‘Start a Team’ option when you join, so that everyone involved in your initiative can manage their own personal fundraising page.
You need to know the Team Name or the Team Captain’s Name, it’s to find them. From there it’s simple:
- Click 'Join' on the homepage
- Select the 'Join a Team' option
- Search the Team Name or Team Captain's Name
- Click the 'Join' button next to the correct search result
- Complete the registration form to access your personal fundraising page
There is a small fee to join, which covers the cost of your fundraising kit. This fee does not count towards your fundraising goal. All participants are encouraged to raise funds online.

Great question! There are a couple of different ways you can donate online. Most of the time you will receive an email with a link to the sender’s fundraising page. When you click on that link, you 'll be redirected to their page where you’ll see a Donate button. Click ‘Donate’ and complete the form to make your donation.
You may also see a post on social media—the process is the same. Click on the link in the post, which takes you to your personal Lacer fundraising page. Click ‘Donate’ and complete the form. If you do not have the link, no problem. Visit our website and click ‘Donate’ in the top navigation. From there, you can search for the person or team you wish to donate to.
