Diabetes Canada holds a deeply personal significance for me, as it has intrinsically linked to a profound loss in my life. As some of you may be aware, Thirteen years ago, my brother Gord tragically passed away from Type 1 Diabetes while attending a destination wedding. His sudden departure shook our family to its core, leaving an irreplaceable void in our hearts. Gord was known for his vibrant spirit and love for throwing theme parties, infusing every gathering with laughter and joy.
In his memory and to honour his passion for celebration, we are hosting a fundraising event for Diabetes Canada. This event not only commemorates Gord's zest for life but also serves as a testament to his enduring legacy of bringing people together for a meaningful cause. Through education, research, and community outreach, Diabetes Canada strives to improve the lives of countless individuals grappling with diabetes, offering hope and assistance in the face of adversity. In my continued support of this cause, I find solace in knowing that Gord's memory lives on, inspiring positive change and resilience in the face of adversity.
