If you are participating with family, it is up to you to decide how you wish to join. Our website is designed to enable so you can have a fundraising page for each family member to fundraise from their own networks and then join them together as a ‘Team’. However, some families opt to fundraise together and promote one family page. For support on making the best choice for your family, contact us at laceup@diabetes.ca.
If you are participating with colleagues, we recommend choosing the ‘Start a Team’ option when you join, so that everyone involved in your initiative can manage their own personal fundraising page.
Once you register, you will receive a welcome email to help you start your movement and your fundraising. As you fundraise, you’ll receive updates about the upcoming event, along with badges as you achieve new milestones.
You need to know the Team Name or the Team Captain’s Name to find them. From there, it’s simple:
There is no fee to join. All participants are encouraged to raise funds online. We cheer on your fundraising success through a variety of badges at different fundraising tiers ($75, $150, $250, $500, $1,000, and $2,500)
There is no fundraising minimum required to participate. We cheer on your fundraising success through badges and emails at different milestones throughout your experience.
Once you have completed your online registration from your phone, tablet, or computer, you’ll be logged in to your Participant Centre. This is your hub for online fundraising!
From the Participant Centre you can set up your personal and/or team page, copy your page link, update your goal and much more. It’s also where you’ll be able to see which badges you’ve earned so far, and what you can do to earn the rest!

Lace Up to End Diabetes Diabetes Canada 1300 - 522 University Avenue Toronto, ON M5G2R5If you would like the cash donations you enter on the app to be counted towards your achievement badges, we ask that you make a self-donation using your own credit card for each individual cash donation that you receive.
Please note: When you're entering your credit card donation, be sure to include your donor's information under the first section ('Donor Information') of the form. This will ensure they receive a tax receipt for any donation over $15. Then, enter your own credit card information under the second section of the form, 'Billing Information'.
Great question! There are a couple of different ways you can donate. Most of the time you will receive an email with a link to the sender’s fundraising page. When you click on that link, you 'll be redirected to their page where you’ll see a Donate button. Click ‘Donate’ and complete the form to make your donation.
You may also see a post on social media—the process is the same. Click on the link in the post, which takes you to your personal Lacer fundraising page. Click ‘Donate’ and complete the form.
If you do not have the link, no problem. Visit our website and click ‘Donate’ in the top navigation. From there you can search for the person or team you wish to donate to.
All online donors who make a donation of $15 or more will receive an electronic copy of their official tax receipt at the email address they supplied when completing their donation. Sometimes receipts sneak into junk or spam folders, so be sure to check those too. If you have trouble finding your tax receipt, please contact laceup@diabetes.ca.
