Delilah was first diagnosed with diabetes at Winnipeg’s Children’s Hospital in August 2023. Despite the initial shock, she has embraced her condition with resilience and positivity. This year, Delilah is taking eight dance classes, showcasing her love for music and dance.
One of the challenges Delilah faces with diabetes is having to wait for her pre-bolus when she is having a treat. However, she finds joy in her passions, especially K-pop, and is excited to attend a Stray Kids concert in Toronto this June.
Delilah wishes people knew that diabetes is not contagious. She appreciates how her diabetes devices mean fewer finger pokes for her, making management a bit easier. Her advice to anyone newly diagnosed with diabetes is to go to D-Camps, where she has made lasting memories and friends.
Delilah is modelling in the Pump Couture Fashion Show, hoping to reconnect with friends from Diabetes Camp while helping to fundraise. She is most proud of attending D-Camp in 2024 and wants to inspire others with her story. Delilah dreams of becoming a dance teacher when she grows up.
Last summer, Delilah went to Wisconsin Dells and had a great time managing the waterslides with no trouble from diabetes. Her story is a testament to her strength and determination.
Please show your support by helping Delilah reach her fundraising goal to send more kids to D-Camps!
