Anna is very excited to be a part of the Pump Couture Fashion Show again! She was diagnosed with diabetes at age 3. When she became very sick, her parents took her to the doctor, who immediately sent them to the children’s hospital as she was in DKA and very ill. Anna was the first person in her family with type 1 diabetes, so they all had to learn how to manage it. From that moment on, their lives revolved around carb counting, finger pokes, needles, and insulin.
Anna wishes people knew how hard it is to have a device and always manage blood sugars. Anna's advice is to be brave and remember that you can do hard things! She finds the Pump Couture Fashion Show to be a nice event and wants to help raise awareness of type 1 diabetes. Last year was a blast, and she wanted to rock the runway again! Anna attended D-Camps last year and would rate it 100/100. She loved the ropes course and the water trampoline. It was amazing that all the campers and counselors had diabetes, making her feel understood and normal.
Anna is proud of being a great climber, swimmer, and helping her little brother. She dreams of becoming a rock-climbing instructor and hopes to visit Mesa, Arizona. Participating in the Pump Couture Fashion Show gives her the opportunity to share her story and meet others with diabetes.
Please show your support by helping Anna reach her fundraising goal to send more kids to D-Camps! Share this page and check back often for fundraising and event updates.
