Macie was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at a young age. She wishes people understood that diabetes isn’t caused by something she did. Despite the initial challenges, Macie has adapted to her condition over time. Her diabetes devices have been a great help, allowing her mom and dad to easily track her blood sugar levels. However, she feels uncomfortable when people stare at her devices without understanding what they are.
Macie has a passion for dancing, art, swimming, and surfing. She finds joy in these activities and they help her stay positive. One surprising fact about Macie is her love for dolphins; she even had the incredible experience of swimming with them.
Macie is modeling in the Pump Couture Fashion Show to raise awareness about diabetes and to connect with others who share her experiences. She hopes her story will inspire people to support her cause and help send more kids to D-Camps.
