When Audrey was first diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 6, she thought nothing would change, but everything changed. But that is ok, she says. At first it was a bit tricky but now it has gotten easier with the support of the team at Sick Kids. With her parents and siblings by her side Audrey can tackle anything. She is very aware of her own lows and before she switched to the omni-pod, she administered her own insulin independently. She wants other kids to know omni pod is much easier for kids to put on.
Audrey attended the Pump Couture show last year and had so much fun that she wanted to be part of it! She is excited to help raise funds and awareness for diabetes.
Audrey attended D-Camp last year with a few friends and made new ones as well! While at camp, Audrey loved sitting by the fire, swimming and the awards ceremony that celebrated all her fellow campers.
In her spare time, Audrey is very active. She does competitive acro dance, jazz and is an expert tumbler! Audrey has fun going to school and monitoring the little kids yard. She enjoys shopping, skiing and cuddling with her dog Orly.
Audrey’s favourite low snack is strawberry fruit-tella and when on the go, she is always prepared!
