Lars was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was 14 years old. While there were suspicions beforehand, it took a trip to the Starship Auckland Children’s Hospital to confirm.
Years later, Lars moved from New Zealand to Canada, and became a Canadian Citizen. He considers this to be the highlight of his life.
He is excited to be modelling in the Pump Couture Fashion Show to help raise awareness. He also knows that there’s unfortunately still a lot of stigma that surrounds diabetes and thinks the show is one way to help educate people.
“People think diabetes its caused by eating too much sugar… it’s not.”
Help Lars reach his fundraising goal to send kids living with type 1 diabetes to D-Camps. Lars himself attended a Diabetes Camp in New Zealand, both as a child and as an adult, and wishes to raise funds for children in Canada, so they too can have access to this lifechanging program.
