Kristyn was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 12, and understands the importance of representation in breaking down stigmas and stereotypes.
She is modeling in the fashion show because it raises money to send kids to D-Camps and focuses on body positivity.
“Camp Huronda will always be a special place to me, for two weeks, I felt normal, surrounded by kids who were living with diabetes like me. As a mom of two girls, I want them to know you are beautiful no matter what and no disability should prevent you from strutting your stuff.”
Kristyn knows firsthand the challenges people face living with diabetes, managing food, insulin timing, a busy career and being a mom. She built confidence at D-Camps and lifelong diabetes management tools and believes that every child that wants to attend camp has the opportunity to.
Please show your support by helping Kristyn reach her fundraising goal and support sending more kids to D-Camps!
