Every 3 minutes, a person in Canada is diagnosed with diabetes. Diabetes is not slowing down.
I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when I was 3 years old. My mom was 8 when she was diagnosed. There have been highs, lows, needles, finger pokes, insulin pumps, site changes, meal plans, carb counting, doctor visits, and the looming possibility of complications. It is a balancing act every day that most people don't even realize is going on. I have seen many advancements over the last 40 years, but there is still no cure.
Diabetes continues to grow in prevalence, impact quality of life, and cause complications for those living with diabetes and the people who care about them.
That's why I'm joining Sun Life Lace Up to End Diabetes to help bring us one step closer to a cure. I'm doing this for my mom, my father-in-law, my grandmother, my aunts, myself, and everyone impacted by diabetes. Please help me make a lasting difference by donating to my page.
Every dollar raised helps fund education, support services, advocacy and diabetes research that could lead to the next big medical breakthrough.
Please show your support by helping me reach my fundraising goal. Check back often to see updates on my progress.
Thank you for cheering me on!
