The Pancreas Posse
We’re walking together as The Pancreas Posse in the Lace Up to End Diabetes campaign because this cause is personal to us. Many of us have family members, friends, and loved ones who live with diabetes, and we want to make a difference in their lives, as well as in the lives of millions of Canadians affected by this condition.
Over the past 50 years, Diabetes Canada has helped drive groundbreaking research, including the development of the artificial pancreas, new medications for type 2 diabetes, and promising stem cell treatments that may one day lead to a cure for type 1 diabetes. Since 1975, they’ve invested more than $160 million in research to help end diabetes.
But insulin is not a cure, and diabetes continues to grow. Every three minutes, someone in Canada is diagnosed.
