On October 3rd 2025, my life changed in a way I never could have expected. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes - a condition that has completely reshaped my life.
Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune condition where my body attacks the cells in my pancreas that produce insulin. Without insulin, my body can't control blood sugar levels on its own, so I rely on daily insulin injections to live.
It's a daily battle that I am learning to navigate. Some days are exhausting and emotional, while others are okay. Each moment, good and bad, have encouraged a new sense of appreciation for the technology and support I have in my life.
But insulin is not a cure and diabetes is not slowing down. Every three minutes another person living in Canada is diagnosed with diabetes.
That's why we're taking the #LaceUpToEndDiabetes challenge!
Every dollar raised helps fund education, support services, advocacy and diabetes research that could lead to the next big medical breakthrough.
Please show your support by helping me reach my fundraising goal. I would be so grateful.
Thank you for cheering me on!
