Every 3 minutes, a person in Canada is diagnosed with diabetes.
Diabetes continues to grow in prevalence, impact quality of life, and cause complications for those living with diabetes and the people who care about them.
In fact- Diabetes is the leading cause of blindness in Canada. It also contributes to 30% of strokes, 40% of heart attacks and 50% of kidney failure requiring dialysis.
I have a few people that I am lacing up for! Both of my grandfathers were diabetic and my younger brother was recently diagnosed in 2021. But my biggest reason!?!?! My son Terran is 9 years old and he was diagnosed as type 1 last August ð’™
