I am Lacing Up for diabetes again this year to raise money to go towards research to help find a cure and make the day to day lives easier for people diagnosed with diabetes. My inspiration is my grand niece who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 5. Diabetes Canada has opened up fundraising efforts to start earlier than September so I have decided to make July my fundraising month and will do my 4km a day to reach 100km throughout the month. My grandniece will be visiting me this year so I thought it appropriate to start earlier and that way she will be able to cheer me on and participate in person
Every 3 minutes, a person in Canada is diagnosed with diabetes. Diabetes is not slowing down AND neither will I.
Diabetes continues to grow in prevalence, impact quality of life, and cause complications for those living with diabetes and the people who care about them.
That’s why I’m Lacing Up to help bring us one step closer to a cure. Please help me make a lasting difference by donating to my page.
Every dollar raised helps fund education, support services, advocacy and diabetes research that could lead to the next big medical breakthrough.
Please show your support by helping me reach my fundraising goal. Check back often to see updates on my progress.
If you are able to support me in reaching my goal your generosity does not go unnoticed. If you do not receive a personal thank you from me within a day or two please let me know as there have been some glitches in the past of sponsors not getting to my page. It is easy enough to clear up if I have the particulars.
Thank you for cheering me on!
Maggie
