Every 3 minutes, a person in Canada is diagnosed with diabetes. Diabetes is not slowing down and neither am I.
Diabetes continues to grow in prevalence, impact quality of life, and cause complications for those living with diabetes and the people who care about them.
I am Lacing Up for my grandson, Brady Olsen, who was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes three years ago at the young age of 22. To me, a cure for diabetes would mean my grandson, along with millions of other diabetics, could live a relatively normal life. I am Lacing Up to support those living with diabetes!
Every dollar raised helps fund education, support services, advocacy and diabetes research that could lead to the next big medical breakthrough.
As a member of Team Diabetes, I have personally raised over $60,000 for Diabetes Canada over the past couple of decades. I consider myself "one of the lucky ones" as I am not a diabetic myself, but I have relatives and friends who aren't as fortunate. My fundraising goal is $12,500 as I am working towards becoming a Lace Up Ambassador.
Please show your support by helping me reach my fundraising goal. Check back often to see updates on my progress.
Thank you for cheering me on! Much appreciated!
