Their Story: Why They're Lacing Up
Shannon Nail
I’m hosting a Lace Up Walk because I want to show love and support for family and friends living with diabetes—they inspire me every day with their strength and resilience.
This walk is a way to raise awareness and let those affected by diabetes know that they are not alone.
My goal is to support Diabetes Canada in their important work—advocating for research, education, and resources that help people manage and thrive despite their diagnosis.
I also want to create a space where our community can come together, connect, and make a real difference—one step at a time.
Our community is incredibly supportive and caring, and I truly believe in the power of collective action. When we walk together, we show what unity and compassion can do. Hosting this walk is my way of giving back, spreading kindness, and helping build a healthier, more informed future for everyone affected by diabetes.
