Every 3 minutes, a person in Canada is diagnosed with diabetes. Diabetes is not slowing down.
Diabetes continues to grow in prevalence, impact quality of life, and cause complications for those living with diabetes and the people who care about them.
On June 6, 2024 we got the phone call from the doctor and learned that our Kyla Bear was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. We spent the next few days at the Alberta Children’s Hospital to learn all about it, and they have been an incredible support for our family. The last few months we have learned so much, we have laughed and cried, we have lost a lot of sleep, we have learned how to do injections, count carbs, do finger pokes and we are still learning.
We are Lacing Up to help bring us one step closer to a cure. Please help us make a lasting difference by donating to our page. We will participate in a 5k walk on November 14 to mark World Diabetes Day.
Every dollar raised helps fund education, support services, advocacy and diabetes research that could lead to the next big medical breakthrough.
Please show your support by helping us reach our fundraising goal. A little help goes a long way!
Thank you for cheering us on!
