When you think your son caught the flu with a fever you make sure you give him kid Advil, gatorade and popsicles to make them feel better. But it doesn’t get better and you go to the doctor. Doctor rushes you to the Hospital and then from the hospital your get airlifted to the IWK. You have no idea what’s happening as your world is changing.
When they say Type 1 Diabetes, you’re still lost. You don’t know what’s happening as you’re not letting yourself accept it. But your family life all changes and you’re trying to understand and learn at the same time.
Every 3 minutes, a person in Canada is diagnosed with diabetes. Diabetes is not slowing down.
Diabetes continues to grow in prevalence, impact quality of life, and cause complications for those living with diabetes and the people who care about them.
