Neli is Lacing Up this year in support of the one in three people in Canada living with diabetes or prediabetes. Her goal is to raise $12,500 and become a Lace Up Ambassador, representing Diabetes Canada on the world stage.
"As a Type 1 Diabetic myself I am lacing up to Make a Difference for Diabetes and help 11.5 million Canadians living with diabetes. I'm passionate to help find a cure. In 2015, I began my quest to fundraise and formed MAD Dashers-Dash for Diabetes, an annual walk or run event to advocate & raise funds for Diabetes."

Neli believes strongly in the impact a cure can have and thus is up for the challenge.
"I'm taking on this challenge to continue the fight to End Diabetes. If suddenly there were a cure, I'll know I contributed towards this goal! Technology has changed so much since I was diagnosed in 2012 and it will only get better!"
