This September, I pledge to walk 120 km to raise money and awareness, in support of Diabetes Canada’s LACE UP to End Diabetes. I do this for our wonderful son, Jonah, who on July 5th, 2021, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. He has faced this continuous challenge with strength of character, resilience, intelligence, his incredible attitude and humour.
Diabetes is not slowing down. Every 3 minutes, a person in Canada is diagnosed with diabetes. As Jonah’s parents, in support and solidarity and in the spirit of hope, Josh and I are Lacing Up to help bring us one step closer to a cure. Josh will be mountain biking 250 km.
Every dollar raised helps fund education, support services, advocacy and diabetes research that could lead to the next big medical breakthrough.
Please show support by helping us reach our team goal of $3700.
As Jonah’s mom, I dream of a cure for diabetes each and everyday. Thank you for cheering us on and for helping those living with diabetes.
With gratitude,
Heather
