I'm challenging myself to walk 300,000 steps in 30 days!
I lost my mom 9 years ago and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about her. However, I'd like to think I inherited some of her best traits. She was feisty, hardworking, and fun but above all grateful for the life she had.
Unfortunately, I also inherited her high blood pressure and increased risk of heart disease.
So as I was planning my activity for my #LaceUpYourWayChallenge I started to think about how much live has changed for me both personally and professionally over the last couple of years. I'm grateful that I remained working but now it is primarily from home. I often find myself checking my watch at the end of day and I've only moved 1/4 of the recommended 10,000 daily steps. I can feel it.
Lace Up to End Diabetes has given me the kick start I need and the opportunity to challenge myself, and often challenges become habits.
I'm also extremely grateful for the amazing people I've met through Diabetes Canada, you continue to inspire me with your strength and tenacity each day.
Thank you for cheering me on!
