I first became involved with Diabetes Canada because I felt there was a need for me to help them raise funds for research to end this disease. I have always been a big fundraiser for charity. It is just what I know and who I am. From a very young age, my father was always doing what he could to help. From fundraising for Terry Fox, from the very first year, until his very last. Or going door to door to ask people to donate for various charities. He made it an important part of his life, his way of giving back, of doing what he could to make a difference. And that is why I do what I do. Because I want to make a difference just like he did. And it makes me feel closer to him. Because he isn’t here to do it anymore.
