Join us for our fundraising gala to celebrate the “glamping” side of D-Camps! Enjoy a festive evening full of storytelling, entertainment, fantastic food and drinks!
Our goal is to raise funds that will directly support the ongoing enrolment, programming and activities offered at D-Camps and to continued our support and investment into diabetes research.

Honouring Dr. Elizabeth Sellers, BSc, MD, MSc

We are extremely pleased to announce that Dr. Elizabeth Sellers will be recognized as the 2022 Honoree of the 14th Annual Best Banting Gala, presented by Signex Manufacturing.
As we celebrate 60 Years of Camp in 2022, who more appropriate to recognize then Dr. Sellers. She has been an integral part of the D-Camps program dating back to 1993 at Camp Banting in Ontario and continuing as Camp Medical Director for Manitoba’s Camp Briardale. Dr. Sellers is also an active member of our National Medical Task Force for D-Camps.
Academically, Dr. Sellers undergrad medical training was at University of Western Ontario in London, her pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa and pediatric endocrine training at McGill University in Montreal. She completed the research component of her endocrine training in Manitoba, undertaking a Masters of Science in Community Health Sciences. She is currently a Professor, Department of Pediatrics and Child Health, University of Manitoba. As a clinician and clinical researcher, her primary focus has been the epidemiology, pathophysiology, complications, treatment and support of youth with type 2 diabetes with a particular interest in Indigenous populations. Dr. Sellers is privileged to work with the interprofessional team at the Diabetes Education Resource for Children and Adolescents in Winnipeg and to work with and learn from youth and families affected by diabetes.
