Jacob "Sugar Warrior" Randell ~ Helping Type-ONE-derful Kids go to D-Camp
On Saturday, May 4th, 2019 Jacob will be hosting a Lemonade Stand at "WHEELS & DEALS" - A communicty building event at St. Francis Xavier Catholic High School, located at 1235 Russel Road, Hammond, ON K0A 2A0, to raise funds to help send Kids, like Jacob - With Type 1 Diabetes to D-Camp. D-Camps hosts overnight camps across Canada run by Diabetes Canada for kids with type 1 diabetes.
Type 1 diabetes is a chronic disease with no cure and affects roughly 1 in 300 children in Canada. This number continues to grow every year. At D-Camps, children develop a sense of independence through active outdoor activities such as swimming, hiking, campfires and canoeing. Additionally, with the careful guidance of camp & medical staff children learn to independently self-manage their diabetes (including: checking blood sugar levels, carb counting at meal times and administering their proper insulin dosage). These are necessary skills that will last a lifetime.
You can help us reach our fundraising goal $500.00 by buying a virtual glass of lemonade (making an online donation) by visiting our online fundraising page or visiting our pop-up lemonade stand in person.
