As you all know, I have had a gruelling 4 years of recovery following a broken femur. I am now in the process of resuming my former activities and trying to build up my strength and stamina. There is little doubt that diabetes played a significant part in my struggle to heal and participating in my own personal Stroke Out Diabetes event is my way of fighting back against this challenging and life changing condition.
Today there are over 276,000 Saskatchewan people living with diabetes and prediabetes, many of these are our family and friends. Will you join me in the fight against diabetes by supporting Faith Strokes Out Diabetes?
During the months of June and July, I will swim a marathon, 42.2 km. My goal is to get fit, get my blood glucose levels under control and drop the weight gained during my 4 years of captivity. I ask you, my friends, family and colleagues, to support me in this endeavour and cheer me on through this final stage of my recovery. All pledges are tax receiptable and you will receive your tax receipt immediately by email.
Thanks for helping me fight to end diabetes!
